Yesterday I got a chance to audition for a new show set to hit HBO and the CW network. It was wonderful to get out and see all the wonderful spoken word talent in St. Louis all in one room at one time doing their thang. I was #40 so I got a chance to take in some real good word from my predecessors and hear the feedback from the judges. I still wasn't sure what all they were looking for. By the time they got to me I (along with the 5 before me and the rest after me) were limited to one piece because so many people took up more time than they should have. I did one of my fave love pieces and got great feedback about how nice and smooth and soothing my voice was, the imagery of my lyrics the overall content. They took time out after the auditions to deliberate and chose the main poets for the major network. I wasn't chosen for that one but I was cast for the CW. I should be hearing back from them within a month or so for filming.
Today they filmed the first episodes for the major network (HBO) and they called us all on stage to thank us for auditioning and let the audience know that we'd be on the CW soon.I excited and can't wait!
